A dream about a christian college and a buddhist temple

This was one of the most vivid dreams I've had in a long time - actually it was 2 related dreams in succession.

In the first dream, I was preparing to go to what seemed to be a christian college along with a good friend who was also going to be my roommate, and he was giving me advice since it seemed he was older and had already started a year previously. I don't think I really recognize him as someone I know in real life, but he was asian and it felt like we had known each other and had gone to church together for a very long time. He felt like a brother - there was something very comforting and familiar about him.

In the next dream, we had already moved into our new dormroom. It was still very early in the morning, but I had woken up because I was anxious to get started on the first day of class. My friend had also woken up along with me, but stayed in his bed - giving me last minute instructions about things I had to do throughout the day.

I was just about to leave the dormroom for the showers when I suddenly realized that this was all a dream. Being fully conscious that this was dream, I went to my roommate's bed and knelt down beside him to tell him that I was dreaming and that none of this was real, and that he wasn't real. He didn't know what to make of this, and said that he needed some time to "process everything".

Then I dragged him out of bed, telling him that we needed to explore this dream world before I wake up. So we left our dormroom - barefoot and still wearing our pajamas, and went downstairs and out of the dorm.

The scenery outside took my breath away. It was twilight, and it seemed that our "christian college" was in the middle of downtown of a city that reminded me somewhat of San Francisco. We were surrounded by mountains dimly lit in the twilight light and the brightly lit buildings of the cityscape. I looked up and saw a myriad of stars in the sky. It was so vivid and beautiful, and I was so inspired that I began witnessing to my roommate knowing this was only a dream - telling him about God, and about how many people there are in the world, and how much He loves every one, and how His thoughts for every single one of His children are like the stars in the sky.

As we walked to the edge of the "campus" I noticed down the street what seemed like a chinatown - only it wasn't dirty, but beautifully decorated with lights and lanterns. Then I noticed some kind of Buddhist shrine or temple - also beautifully lit with decorative lighting.

Suddenly a large group of asians dressed up in a combination of hindu and buddhist robes, headgear - some with their faces painted like chinese opera singers - rushed out of the temple and ran directly at us. They first surrounded my roommate and began dragging him towards the temple, telling him that he belongs with them. My roommate looked at me sadly and commented, "Yes, I belong with them." and began walking with them back to the temple. I noticed that he was already wearing a hindu turban and loincloth with no shirt.

Then the group of "asians" turned their attention towards me - and rushed to surround me in order to drag me into the temple with them. Strangely, I was unafraid and planted my feet firmly to stand my ground. I could feel their tremendous force on my body pushing me towards the temple, yet I was unmoved. After a while they gave up. As they left me to go back into their temple, I couldn't help but feel sad for my roommate - even though I knew this was only a dream. Then I woke up and immediately rushed downstairs to write this blog.

EFC Ghostbuster Squad

Here's a dream I had sometime last year...

I was leading a short-term missions team like music ministry in the summer - only it was kind of like an EFC Ghostbuster Squad, traveling around the world to different places haunted by ghosts. The team seemed to have been made up of people from different missions teams I've lead, but the only person I distinctly remember was Peter Hsieh.

I think we were in some southeast-asian country - like the Philippines or Singapore. I was driving the team in a passenger van to our next location - a haunted college dormitory of some kind. It reminded me of a prison - huge and made of concrete and really old and run-down looking. It was during break - so the only person living there was the RA who was also our guide.

The RA was a typical asian college dude - and I asked him to take us to our room so we could first unload our gear and get settled in. The interior was very dark - dimly lit by bluish-green florescent lights, some burnt out and others randomly flickering. There were papers and trash all over the floor of the hallways, and marker graffiti on the walls. He lead us to an old elevator, and we took a long ride up to the top floor.

As the elevator doors opened, I was the first to walk out - suddenly 3 cardboard boxes stacked against a wall were flung at me by some invisible force. Somehow, I was able to catch them - and I turned around and remarked to the team, "I guess we now know what to expect."

The RA then lead us down a very long and dark concrete staircase. I remember thinking how we should be careful here in case the ghost tried to push one of us down these stairs. We arrived at a dirty, rundown cafeteria/game room. There were assorted video games against the wall and an old karaoke machine in the corner. The RA began pulling out old mattresses for us to sleep on the floor. I remember thinking how tired I was and how much I wanted to just take a shower and go to sleep after such a long trip. But instead of falling asleep I woke up.

I really wanted to know what would happen next.

I'm Batman (dream)

Here's a dream I had earlier this month...

There was actually much more of the dream than I can remember. The part that I do remember was near the end of the dream..

A group of Gotham city police officers, Robin, and I were confronting Poison Ivy and some of her henchmen inside of a shopping mall/office building. The henchmen were creepy looking clowns wearing black and white stripped prison uniforms. The building seemed to have been made of glass, but it was late night and closed, so nobody else was around. We were on one of the upper floor balconies overlooking the open interior of the mall.

Poison Ivy (played by Uma Thurman) began to walk over to me. As she strutted, she took off a large coat to reveal a typically sultry outfit. She walked straight up to my face, took my hand and placed it at the back of her head. There was a pull-ring attached to a string (like the ones at the back of a doll or stuffed animal that talk or make noises when you pull it), and she began to pull it back with my hand. Suddenly, she let go of the ring, leaving it in my hand, and her head falls off revealing herself to be some kind of mechanical fem-bot. As I hear this ticking sound, and all of her henchmen scatter, I realize that her head is actually a time-bomb set to go off once I let go of the ring. I order Robin and the police officers to evacuate the building.

After waiting for a brief moment, I toss the head-bomb into a corner, and jumped from the balcony. My batwings open up and I swooshed down close to the ground towards the glass exit doors. I smashed through the glass doors, and faced another glass wall with another set of glass exit doors. Continuing to glide close to the ground, I smash through that and a few more sets of glass walls and exit doors. As I smash through the last glass door leading outside into the night, there was a massive explosion - obliterating the entire building and sending an enormous shower of glass in every direction.

The explosion knocks me to the ground, and as I recovered and stood up in the darkness of the night, I realized that I was surrounded by another group of clown-faced henchmen in prison outfits. They rushed me, and I fought them off as best as I could - at one time grabbing one of the smaller henchmen and swinging his body around like a battle-club.

Then comes the weird part of the dream.

Another one of the smaller clowns was able to grab onto my leg without my being able to shake him off. He had this syringe in his fist, and it looked like he was getting ready to jam it into my crotch. At first I wasn't worried, thinking that the syringe couldn't penetrate the bottom portion of my protective bat suit. But then to my horror, I realized that I had forgotten to wear the bottom part of my suit, and instead was only wearing a pair of black sweats.

I struggled frantically and finally beat him off. Then I forced myself to wake up - out of breath and in a cold sweat. It might have been excruciatingly painful if he had succeeded.

Rings in the Mud

Recently I had a dream in which I saw some gold rings stuck in a pool of mud. I began to pull them out, and discovered that there were even more rings underneath the surface of the mud. I was able to scoop up an entire handful of those rings.

2 Helicopter Dreams

Ok, I just had 2 dreams about helicopters in 2 nights. Maybe you can tell me what you think it means.

2 nights ago, I dreamed that I was an air traffic controller working in front of a computer radar screen. There were a group of helicopters inside of a large aircraft hanger. They were flying around inside but could not find a way out. I used my computer to guide them to the hangar doors, and they flew off into the sky. Then a 747 jumbo jet was coming in for a landing. I was guiding the plane in to the runway with my computer mouse. Then all of a sudden, a pastor from a different church ran up and said, "Let me help you!" and tried to grab the mouse away, almost causing the plane to lose control. I pushed him away, and after a few tense moments, steadied the plane at the last moment before it landed safely. The pastor wasn't trying to do anything bad and only wanted to help - but almost made me crash the plane. I don't want to mention the pastor's name because some of you might know him.

Last night I dreamed of 2 helicopters. They looked like news helicopters with cameras attached to them that looked down to the ground. One was looking down at a freeway (maybe it was reporting on the traffic). The other one was looking down from the same position at first, then it extended it's camera all the way down to the freeway to look at the cars up close from the ground level. Maybe this dream has something to do with looking at things from a different perspective.
